Calrose Rice, Medium Grain, Milled

Shorter and stickier than long-grain rice. After cooking, Calrose rice grains hold flavor well, are soft and stick together, making it good for use in sushi. Calrose rice accounts for more than 90% of the medium grain rice consumed. Allergy-Free and Gluten-Free.

Calrose Rice, Medium Grain, Brown

Rice from which the hull has been removed. The light brown color is due to the presence of the bran layers and the embryo or germ. Brown rice requires longer cooking time than regular-milled white rice. When cooked, brown rice has a slightly chewy texture and mild, nut-like flavor. Brown rice is 100% whole grain, has more protein, more fiber and lower glycemic index. Allergy-Free and Gluten Free.

M–401 Rice, Premium, Medium Grain, Milled

A late maturing, premium quality grain rice larger in length and wider in width than Calrose rice. This high quality medium grain rice is judged to be superior to other medium grains. After cooking the appearance is very glossy. The outcome of the cooked rice is sticky but has a smooth texture, and remains soft longer than other medium grains. Allergy-Free and Gluten-Free.

Sweet Rice, Premium, Short Grain, Milled

Also known as sticky rice, sweet rice, waxy rice or mochi rice is a type of short-grain rice that is especially sticky when cooked. This "sticky" rice has opaque white grains that cook up translucent, tender, slightly sweet and chewy. "Sweet rice" is often used for deserts. Allergy-Free and Gluten-Free.

Sweet Rice, Premium, Short Grain, Brown

The light brown color is due to the presence of the bran layers and the embryo or germ. The rice has a natural sweet taste and offers the benefits of whole grain goodness. When cooked, the grains cling together because of the sticky texture. Short grain sweet brown rice is also slightly chewy. Compared to white sweet rice it has more protein, fiber and a lower glycemic index. Allergy-Free and Gluten-Free

Koshihikari, Premium, Short Grain, Milled

Known as the ultimate sushi rice. Koshi is considered a super-premium short grain rice that is unique in its characteristics with a firmness, consistency, aroma and natural sweetness that is without peer in the rice world. Slightly off white and firm yet creamy, this low glycemic rice has attributes that make it perfect for sushi or general consumption. Allergy-Free and Gluten-Free.

Second Heads (co-product)

Resulting from the milling process, second heads are milled rice kernels that are one half to three quarters of the original kernel. Second heads are used to make flour, cereal, baby food, etc. Allergy-Free, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO

Brewers, Brokens, Milled (co-product)

The small milled fragments of rice kernels that have been separated from the larger kernels of milled rice. Brewers rice, like second heads, are one of the many byproducts of the rice milling products. Brewers rice is a milled rice kernel that is one-quarter to half the size of a full kernel. Brewers rice is sold for pet food. Allergy-Free and Gluten-Free.

Bran (by-product)

The hard outer layer of the grain consisting of combined aleurone and pericarp. Rice bran is another by-product of the milling process (the conversion of brown to white rice). Bran is widely used as a major component in animal feed. Rice bran is sometimes fed to horses for nutritional value, particularly as a plant-based fat supplement. It is considered an excellent way to put weight onto a thin horse without the problems associated with the overfeeding of grain.

Hulls (by-product)

The outer protective husk of paddy rice. Hulls are typically used in animal feed, bedding and as fuel in co-generation utility plants.
